Our products are known throughout the industry as dependable workhorse systems, fulfilling the need for high quality, efficiency and value.

Tystar has more than 50 years of combined experience developing equipment for the electronics manufacturing industry. Tystar's primary products include TYTAN furnace systems, process control systems, a wide range of additional process equipment and accessories, as well as value-added services. Our products are used in many segments of the business, serving manufacturers of integrated circuits, MEMS, power semiconductor devices, opto-electronic devices, solar cells, fiber optic devices and semiconductor materials.

Tystar developed and patented a unique heat-plug which provides the user with a much more compact furnace without compromising throughput. This design results in superior process uniformity and higher-yield wafer production.

Located in Garden Grove, California, Tystar Corporation was formed in 1988 after the acquisition of several product lines from Tylan Corporation, including the TYTAN furnace system for semiconductor device fabrication. Tystar assembled a team of experts in this field, bringing many years of experience to the company. With more than 1,600 furnace tubes installed and operational worldwide, Tystar maintains a global presence.

LEADERSHIP

Dr. Wayne H. Choe

Dr. Wayne H. Choe

CEO

First off, we have our CEO, Wayne Choe. He received a Ph.D. from MIT in 1985. His work on plasma physics 30 years ago is still being cited in a number of journal articles today. His academic interest shifted later to industrial plasma technology while teaching at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the eighties and nineties. Over the past 10 years, however, his interest of research has rapidly diverted to other practical areas such as materials processing and nanofabrication.

He has published over 100 articles in reputable international journals and proceedings. He is an inventor of six patented concepts ranging from ultrahigh-efficiency solar cells to millimeter wave filters. He served as a Special Faculty Consultant for ANL, on the International Steering Committee of Korea National Thermonuclear Program, as an editor/reviewer of several international journals, and as an organizing/steering committee chairman of international conferences. He participated in a few national projects administered by NASA, NSF and DOE. He also received many awards such as NSF Novel Concept Award and DOE/ORNL Professorial Development Award.

Message from the CEO.

Henry N. Heidbreder

Engineering Manager

Then we have Mr. Henry Heidbreder, who is our Engineering Manager. He received a Bachelor Degree in Electronics from San Francisco State University. He has more than 35 years experience in the engineering, manufacturing and servicing of major semiconductor and fiber optics manufacturing equipment. For several years he was Project Engineer at Tylan Corporation’s Semiconductor Equipment Division with experience in equipment design, installation, and troubleshooting. His prior experience includes electronic testing and process control engineering for a major independent optical fiber manufacturing company. He is a specialist in electronic systems design and computer control systems.

James K. Smith

Matthew Stukas

Operations Manager

Mr. Stukas began his 20-year career at Tystar as an Inventory Controller in 2001. Following the completion of his bachelor's degree from UCLA in 2005, he progressively assumed additional responsibilities within the administrative staff. His promotion to Operations Manager in 2014 marked a significant milestone, as he assumed greater managerial duties overseeing Tystar's production projects, project quoting, contract drafting/signing, sales management, and various other daily operations.
